Calgary, Alberta – is pleased to announce radio personality Matt O’Neill has joined the team that is dedicated to showcasing minor hockey stories around the Calgary area.

O’Neill is best-known for his time on the Jack FM Morning Show across 13 years. He teamed up with hockey reporter Eric Francis and the two were a hit for years. Currently, he is dedicating time to charities such as Ronald McDonald House, among other volunteer opportunities.

O’Neill will provide personality and humor to the videos curated to hockey families around the city. His wit is demonstrated perfectly in the first video he has appeared in, which involves the touchy subject of minor hockey evaluations.

With two sons in Calgary minor hockey and a proud hockey supporter, O’Neill said he is thrilled to help showcase stories around the city.

“I am very honoured to be a part of a great team at HockeyXtra as host of a running series that should be as entertaining and informative as it is interactive.”

Named to Avenue Magazine’s Top 40 under 40 in 2004, O’Neill is a well-known name around the city and will help broaden the reach of HockeyXtra.
