Each year, countless minor hockey members give back to their community by raising money for Cancer research.  This year, HockeyXtra helped share one of these inspiring stories.

Description:  Two Minor Hockey teammates decide to take on the challenge of raising money for the Alberta Kids Cancer Care and the Alberta Children’s Hospital. Affectionately known as the “Flow Line”, this defensive pair raised over $5000 combined. As a part of their pledge, the two agreed to shave their lids in support of their charities.

“It would be arrogant of me to suggest that we as coaches had an impact on their decisions, we’ll never know where the inspiration came from nor should it matter. The fact is that the boys took action from within themselves and that’s what needs to be celebrated.”

Head Coach, Kris Van Grieken.
